What is kept from Word
- Headings, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, colours, sizes and highlights.
- Alignment, indents and right-to-left paragraphs.
- Numbered and bulleted lists, including multi-level numbering.
- Tables with merged cells and shading, images and links.
- Page breaks and the document's page size and margins.
Why the print window
The PDF is created by your browser's own print engine, the same one that displays web pages. That is why the text stays real and searchable, fonts are smooth, and Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Thai, Chinese and every other script are shaped correctly. In the print window choose “Save as PDF” as the destination.
Text files
Plain text (TXT, MD, LOG, CSV) becomes a clean document with your choice of font size, in normal or monospace type, keeping every line break. Choose A4, Letter, Legal or A5, portrait or landscape, and the margins.
Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded?
No. It is read and converted in your browser and never leaves your device.
Will the PDF look exactly like Word?
Very close for most documents. Complex layouts such as text boxes, columns, headers and footers are simplified, because they are made for Word itself.
Can I convert old .doc files?
Not directly. Open them in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs and save as .docx first.
Is the text in the PDF selectable?
Yes. It is real text, so it can be searched, copied and read by screen readers.
Why do I see a print window?
The browser's print engine creates the PDF. Choose “Save as PDF” (or “Microsoft Print to PDF”) as the printer.
Are images kept?
Yes, PNG, JPG, GIF and other web image formats. Old EMF/WMF drawings are skipped.
