Create Folders from a List
Paste names or open an Excel sheet and get one folder for every row, each with the same set of subfolders if you like. Download them as a ZIP or create them straight on your computer.
- Paste the folder names or open an Excel / CSV file
- Add the subfolders every folder should contain
- Download the ZIP or create the folders
Your files never leave your device
One folder per row
Typing folder after folder is slow and easy to get wrong. Paste a column of names (clients, students, projects, employees) and every row becomes a folder. Several columns create nested levels: “2026 | Sales | Client A” becomes 2026 › Sales › Client A.
The same subfolders in every folder
- Write one subfolder per line, for example Contracts, Invoices, Photos.
- Use a slash for deeper levels, such as Documents/Scans.
- Numbering adds 01, 02, 03… in front, so folders stay in list order.
- Characters that are not allowed in folder names are replaced automatically.
ZIP or straight onto your computer
In Chrome and Edge on a computer you can choose a folder and the new folders are created inside it directly. In every browser you can download a ZIP that contains the empty folders; unzip it where you need them.
Frequently asked questions
How many folders can I create?
Thousands. Very long lists simply take a few seconds more.
Does the ZIP really keep empty folders?
Yes. When you unzip it, every folder and subfolder is there, even without files.
Can I create nested folders?
Yes. Use several columns in Excel, or a slash in the subfolder list, such as Year/Month.
What happens to names with / or : ?
Characters that Windows, macOS or Linux do not allow are replaced with a space, and trailing dots are removed.
Will existing folders be overwritten?
No. When creating on your computer, folders that already exist are simply reused and no file is deleted.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The folders are created by your browser on your device.
