Change Audio Volume
Fix recordings that are too quiet or too loud. Choose a volume level or let the tool bring the loudness to a standard level, then download the file.
- Select your audio files
- Choose the volume or normalize
- Download the new files
Your files never leave your device
Two ways to fix the volume
- Change volume: set a percentage, for example 200% to double the volume or 50% to halve it.
- Normalize loudness: measures the recording and brings it to a standard level (-16 LUFS), ideal for podcasts, voice notes and lessons.
No clipping
When the volume is increased, a limiter stops the loudest parts from clipping and crackling. The file keeps its original format when possible; other formats are saved as MP3.
Private processing
Kingdom of Files changes the volume on your device with the media engine (downloaded once, about 32 MB). Your recordings are never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How much louder can I make it?
Up to 400% of the original volume.
What does normalize do?
It automatically raises or lowers the loudness to a standard level, so different files sound equally loud.
Will the sound be distorted?
A limiter protects against clipping. Very quiet recordings with noise may still sound noisy when boosted.
Is the format kept?
Yes for MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, OPUS and FLAC; other formats are saved as MP3.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser.
Can I process several files?
Yes. Select multiple files and download them as a ZIP.
