Typical uses
- Did every student hand in their file? Compare the class list with the submissions folder.
- Which products still have no photo? Compare the item numbers with the images folder.
- Which employees are missing a document? Compare the staff list with their folders.
- Which scanned invoices are missing? Compare the invoice numbers with the scans.
Smart matching in every language
Names are compared without case, accents or diacritics (é = e, harakat in Arabic are ignored), extra spaces, dashes or underscores, and with unified letter variants, and the order of the words does not matter, so “Ana Muñoz” matches “munoz_ana.pdf”. Choose “contains” when the file names hold more than the name, for example “2026 - Ana Muñoz - CV.pdf”.
Files or subfolders
Compare with file names (without the extension) or with subfolder names, including deeper levels if you want. The report has three sheets: found (with the matching paths), missing and extra.
Frequently asked questions
Is the folder uploaded?
No. The browser only reads the file names inside the folder on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.
Does it work with Arabic, Chinese or Cyrillic names?
Yes. Matching works for every script, and digits of any script count as the same digits.
What does “contains” do?
A name counts as found when it appears anywhere in a file name, which helps when files carry dates or extra words.
Can I compare with folders instead of files?
Yes. Choose “Subfolders” to check, for example, one folder per customer or per employee.
Which browsers can open a folder?
All modern browsers on computers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. You can also drag the folder onto the page.
Can I export the result?
Yes, as an Excel file with three sheets, or copy any list to paste it elsewhere.
