Amounts in words for cheques and invoices

Banks, accountants and government offices often require the amount in words as well as in figures, so that it cannot be altered. The tool writes the whole part and the cents (or halalas, fils, piastres…) with the correct currency name.

Frequently asked questions

How do I write 1,250.75 in words?

Type 1250.75 and choose the currency. In English you get, for example, "One thousand two hundred fifty US dollars and 75/100"; in Arabic the halalas or fils are written in words too.

Which currencies are supported?

About 40 common currencies, including the Saudi riyal, UAE dirham, Kuwaiti dinar, Egyptian pound, US dollar, euro and pound sterling. Currencies with three decimals, such as the Kuwaiti dinar, are handled correctly.

Can I type numbers with commas or Arabic digits?

Yes. 1,250.75, 1 250,75 and Arabic-Indic digits are all understood.

What does "only" add?

It wraps the amount the way cheques usually do, for example "… only" in English or "فقط … لا غير" in Arabic, so nothing can be added before or after it.

What is the largest number?

Up to 999,999,999,999,999 (999 trillion).

Is my data sent anywhere?
